At 11 A.M. on 11-11-11, lucky newborn arrives at Tacoma General
At exactly 11 a.m. on 11-11-11, a lucky baby girl was born in the Family Birth Center at MultiCare Tacoma General Hospital.
Sofia Gross, weighing 7 pounds, 7 ounces, was delivered by Caesarean section on Friday. The parents knew the significance of the date, but didn't plan on the time. In fact, the procedure was originally scheduled for 10 a.m.
"She wanted that 11," said mother Madalyn Lugo.
"I think she wanted to be a little celebrity," said father Frankie Gross.
Some people make a wish when they see 11:11 on a clock -- what do the Tacoma parents wish for their new daughter?
"That she's happy and successful in whatever she does," Frankie said.
"And healthy," added Madalyn.
As far as next year, they said they don't have any plans to try for a 12-12-12 baby.
"That might be pushing it," Madalyn said.
