Counselors and Advocates
Mary Bridge social workers provide professional clinical services to patients, families and staff. Services are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week and are provided by master's level social work clinicians specifically trained in pediatrics.
Social Work Services provided include:
- Psychosocial assessment
- Crisis intervention
- Education
- Consultation
- Grief and Loss
- Referral coordination to community agencies
Referrals to Social Work include psychosocial issues related to chronic/acute illness, trauma, child abuse or neglect, developmental delays, family adjustment to illness or disability, lack of sufficient or appropriate community resources, grief and loss issues and general support.
Mary Bridge social workers help patients and families cope with
sudden or long-term illness or disability, trauma and hospitalization. They
also advocate on behalf of patients and families to assist them in
understanding and contributing to the care of their child. Social workers
provide counselling, continuing support, and referral to community agencies.
