MultiCare hospitals honored for stroke care

Only three hospitals in the South Sound – all of them with MultiCare Health System -- have been recognized for providing a high level of stroke care. MultiCare Auburn Medical Center, MultiCare Good Samaritan Hospital and MultiCare Tacoma General Hospital received the 2014 "Get With The Guidelines" Stroke Gold Plus Performance Achievement Award.

Wellness screening and visitor restrictions for the 2013-2014 flu season

The infection prevention department has been in communication with other organizations across the region, with our state and local health departments, and with our OB, Pediatric and Neonatal areas to establish a reasonable approach to visitors in these areas that could be implemented annually, and could be escalated if needed while the season progresses.

MultiCare Health System's annual Provider Engagement Survey is now open. The survey, which is being administered by Gallup on behalf of MultiCare, is designed to gather information about providers' needs and the needs of their patients, as well as how the hospital can better serve both our MultiCare providers and our provider partners in the community.

Reminders on CMS physician signature requirements

As a reminder to all MultiCare physicians, nurses and office staff, CMS requires that services provided or ordered must be authenticated by a handwritten or electronic signature by the authoring physician. With few exceptions, stamped or otherwise replicated signatures are not acceptable for medical review purposes.
