NFL Hall-of-Famer raises awareness about prostate cancer

An NFL Hall-of-Famer and a MultiCare doctor teamed up to encourage men to "Know Your Stats about Prostate Cancer," the second-leading cause of cancer death for American men.

About 50 people listened to NFL Hall-of-Famer Deacon Jones and MultiCare Urologist
Dr. Douglas Sutherland speak Wednesday at Hotel Murano in Tacoma.

The 72-year-old Jones credited a
PSA test with saving his life. Thanks to the test, he found out he had prostate cancer, which was then treated.

One in every six U.S. men will be diagnosed with prostate cancer, and African American men are more than twice as likely to die from the disease.
