Social Work staff members collect donations for Tree House

In honor of Social Work Month, staff members in MultiCare's Social Work department collected donations for Tree House, where families stay while their children receive treatment nearby at Mary Bridge Children's Hospital or Tacoma General Hospital.

The food, toiletries, household goods, toys and a $500 gift card were delivered on Thursday by Social Worker Lynn Dion, Psychiatric ARNP Sandi Clauson, and John Pearson, Director of Social Work for MultiCare Health System.

"Our families depend on Tree House a lot," Pearson said. "We hope this helps for a while."

Tree House Specialists Casey Clark and Sheila Richardson, as well as Child Life Service Supervisor Rachel McCrary, gratefully accepted the gifts. Recently, Tree House has received generous donations from Orthopedic Guilds, families who have previously stayed at Tree House, and even from people who attended a transportation convention.

"We wanted to give you something for all that you do for our families," Dion said. "We value you."

"We value you, too!" Clark said.
