MultiCare Medical Explorers

Program exposes teens to health care careers

Medical Explorers is a program co-sponsored by MultiCare Health System and the Boy Scouts of America, and is open to males and females, ages 14-18. This program allows teens to explore health careers through hands-on interactions with health care providers currently working in the field. The result is a program of activities that help youth pursue their interest in medical careers, grow and develop as young adults.

Medical Explorers is learning about the variety of health related careers to include nursing, medicine, radiology, pharmacy, medical records, social work, computer information services, dietary and many more fields.

Exploring is based on a unique and dynamic relationship between youth and the organizations in their communities. Local community organizations initiate an explorer post by matching their people and program resources to the interests of young people in the community. The program allows teens to explore medical careers through interactions with health care professionals currently working in the field. The result is a program of activities that helps youth pursue their special interests, grow, and develop.
