One of oldest nurses in U.S. still going strong at Tacoma General
More than 67 years after See-See Rigney, RN, graduated in 1946 from the Tacoma General Hospital School of Nursing, she's still going strong as a staff nurse in Surgical Services. Born in 1925, she'll celebrate her 88th birthday on May 8.

Update: Siblings of any age may visit newborns at Birth Centers
On March 26, 2013, MultiCare Health System lifted the visitor restrictions that were put in place to protect newborns in the Family Birth Centers. Siblings of any age are allowed to visit the Birth Center, but children younger than 13 who are not siblings of the baby are still restricted. Some restrictions are still in place at Tacoma General's high-risk nurseries, at Mary Bridge Children’s Hospital, and at the Mary Bridge Pediatric Care Unit at Good Samaritan Hospital.

All clear: police responded to nonspecific threat at MultiCare
About 1 p.m. Tuesday, MultiCare Health System received a nonspecific threat at the main campus of Tacoma General Hospital and Mary Bridge Children’s Hospital & Health Center. After investigating the threat, staff and law enforcement determined there was no danger and called the all clear about 3:30 p.m.

Patient feels 'love and compassion' at cancer center in Puyallup
When Bill Clark finished up his last round of chemotherapy at the MultiCare Regional Cancer Center in Puyallup, the nurses treated him to the foods he’d inexplicably craved during his six months of treatment: a giant Slurpee and three beef jerky sticks. Clark still laughs – and tears up a little – talking about it. “Those gals have so much grace and love and compassion for people,” Clark says. “I couldn’t have gotten any better care.”
