We Are Looking For an Excellent Fit
TFM has had a long tradition of training physicians for “full service” Family Medicine with specific preparation for the care of rural and/or underserved populations. By full service, we mean a practice that includes Outpatient and Inpatient Family Medicine care including Obstetrics. We are looking for applicants who are excited by our mission statement, and more importantly, have demonstrated a strong commitment to the under-served.
Successful graduates who have matched and fit well with us have had solid medical school academics, particularly in 3rd and 4th year clinical rotations and sub-internships. Our inpatient services are approximately 50% of the curriculum and can at times be rigorous. Successful residents have planned ahead and paced themselves. They have been optimistic, self-starting adult learners who are motivated to obtain further knowledge and skills. They have been team players who support their fellow residents and are able to use process in achieving institutional change. Successful residents have found ways to apply their unique gifts and strengths for the benefit of their patients, colleagues and our program.
