MultiCare WIC Nutrition Services

WIC is a supplemental nutrition program for pregnant and breastfeeding women, as well as infants and children under age 5.

WIC provides nutritious foods, plus other benefits, free of charge to eligible families. Services offered at our 11 MultiCare WIC sites in Pierce County include nutritional and breastfeeding support, including tips on keeping you and your family healthy. We will also provide referrals to medical and dental providers, along with a variety of other community resources.

WIC serves:
  • Breastfeeding women up to 1 year after delivery
  • Children up to age 5 years
  • Infants
  • Postpartum women up to 6 months after delivery
  • Pregnant women

**Participants must reside in Washington State and meet these household income guidelines.

WIC provides monthly checks for nutritious foods, including:

  • Milk
  • Dried Beans
  • Eggs
  • Canned Tuna/Salmon (Breastfeeding moms only)
  • Iron-Fortified Cereal
  • Cheese
  • Juice
  • Infant Formula
    (For Infants requiring a breast milk substitute)
  • Peanut Butter
  • Fruits & Vegetables
  • Whole Grains
  • Baby Cereal & Strained Baby Foods

Call our friendly staff at a WIC location near you to schedule an appointment.

The appointment will take about 30-45 minutes. Bring identification, proof of income and proof of residency. WIC staff will talk with you and fill out the information needed. Eligible clients get WIC checks for food on the day of their appointment. No waiting!
