Healthy communities require more than just health care. MultiCare has been a dedicated community partner throughout our 136-year-history, helping to do our part to achieve community goals. We’ve provided — and continue to provide — financial support, volunteers and additional resources to numerous local and national organizations such as the American Cancer Society, American Heart Association, American Red Cross, Habitat for Humanity, Metro Parks Tacoma, YMCA of Pierce and Kitsap Counties, Crystal Judson Family Justice Center, Tacoma Rainiers and many, many more.

In 2015, MultiCare decided to take that support one step further and established the MultiCare Community Partnership Fund.

The fund supports organizations that contribute to the health and vitality of our community in areas such as health improvement, economic well-being, education and the arts. The fund has awarded over $2 million in grants to date to a growing number of Puget Sound area organizations — and 2018 saw the expansion of the fund into the Inland Northwest Region, awarding $250,000 in grants to nearly 30 organizations.

The fund has helped support programs like FareStart, a Seattle-based culinary training program for adults and youth who are in poverty and have barriers to employment, such as homelessness, a criminal background or substance use disorders; Hilltop Artists youth artist outreach program; Second Harvest, a Spokane-based community hunger relief organization; and Greater Spokane County Meals on Wheels.
