Building Healthy Communities
MultiCare is a not-for-profit health care organization with more than 18,000 team members, including employees, providers and volunteers. We’ve been caring for communities in Washington state for well over a century, since the founding of Tacoma’s first hospital in 1882.
We’ve grown from a Tacoma-centric, hospital-based organization into a comprehensive system of care that spans the state of Washington and treats patients from around the Pacific Northwest.
Today, our organization includes Mary Bridge Children’s Hospital & Health Network, Immediate Clinic, MultiCare Indigo Urgent Care, MultiCare Virtual Care, Navos, Pulse Heart Institute and MultiCare Connected Care, our Accountable Care Organization. We offer inpatient care, primary care, virtual care, urgent care and specialty services; partner with a large network of both employed and affiliated physicians; and administer or support a wide range of community outreach programs in both the Puget Sound and Inland Northwest regions.
Nine hospitals complete our organization: Allenmore Hospital, Auburn Medical Center, Covington Medical Center, Deaconess Hospital, Good Samaritan Hospital, Mary Bridge Children’s Hospital — the Puget Sound region’s only children’s hospital and state-designated Level II Pediatric Trauma Center for Western Washington — Navos Behavioral Health Hospital, Valley Hospital, and Tacoma General Hospital, which is home to the South Puget Sound region’s only Level IV Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.
We are a very different organization than we were just a few years ago — larger, more diverse, embracing the changes that come our way as health care continues to evolve. But our commitment to our mission — partnering for healing and a healthy future — and our dedication to the health of the many communities we serve remains constant and unwavering.
