About MultiCare Health System

Better Connected. It's Our Promise to You.

Tacoma General Exterior

MultiCare Health System is a not-for-profit health care organization with more than 15,000 team members, including employees, providers and volunteers.

Our comprehensive system of health includes numerous primary care, urgent care and specialty services — including Immediate Clinic, MultiCare Indigo Urgent Care and Pulse Heart Institute — MultiCare Medical Associates, affiliated physicians and a wide range of community outreach programs.

Five hospitals complete our organization: Allenmore Hospital, Auburn Medical Center, Good Samaritan Hospital, Mary Bridge Children’s Hospital — the region’s only children’s hospital and state-designated Level II Pediatric Trauma Center for Western Washington — and Tacoma General Hospital, which is home to the region’s only Level IV Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.

We’ve been caring for our community for well over a century, since the founding of Tacoma’s first hospital in 1882. Health care’s changed a lot since then. Today the pace of change has never been faster, and the changes themselves have never been more fundamental.

But, even as we grow beyond Tacoma and the Puget Sound region — transforming ourselves from a local health care provider to a state-wide health care system — our purpose remains the same: to care for our patients and our communities and to partner for healing and a healthy future.
