MultiCare has a number of programs in place designed to foster equity, diversity, inclusion and belonging for our patients, for our employees and for the communities we serve. These programs provide support for equity and belonging work in a myriad of ways — financial support, education, access to resources and more.

For Our Patients

From interpreter services to  a committment to culturally competent care, MultiCare is dedicated to ensuring that everyone who comes to us for care are cared for in a high quality, compassionate and equitable way — regardless of race, religion, gender or other factors. In 2015, the organization launched the MultiCare Center for Health Equity & Wellness to bring all our system's health equity programs under one umbrella. All our patient-serving equity programs are housed within the Center.

For Our Employees

Racism and discrimination have no place in our health system. That’s true for our relationships with our patients and that’s true for our relationships with our colleagues. MultiCare has developed a number of education programs for our employees so they have the tools they need to care for all our patients in a compassionate and respectful manner. The Belonging Program

As part of the discussions about equity, diversity, inclusion and belonging that our organization has been engaged in since June 2020, we have begun developing a more comprehensive Belonging Program. This program will serve as an overall guide to our organization as we travel on our Belonging Journey, with a special focus on our employees.
