Center for Healthy Living

Support for your Journey to Better Health

MultiCare Center for Healthy Living promotes healthy lifestyle choices and addresses health disparities in our communities to improve population health outcomes. 

The MultiCare Healthy Living offers programs and services for general and sports nutrition, weight management and tobacco cessation. In addition, the MultiCare Center for Healthy Living provides free community health screenings, conducts community events, and offers community nutrition presentations.

Nutrition Services

Little Girl Holding Carrot at Dinner TableMultiCare Center for Healthy Living's Registered Dietitians offer several nutrition services and packages geared at weight management, wellness, and sports nutrition. Our Registered Dietitians work one-on-one with clients to meet their individual nutrition needs. Services are available at Allenmore Hospital, MultiCare Orthopedic and Sports Medicine Center and the Tom Taylor YMCA.

Ready, Set, Go! 5210

Ready, Set, Go! 5210 is a community-based initiative in Pierce County to promote healthy lifestyle choices for children, youth, and families. Ready, Set, Go! 5210 aims to improve health in Pierce County making healthy changes where people live, learn, work, and play. Ready, Set, Go! 5210 focuses on the following areas: community, schools, early learning, after school, workplace, and health care. YOU can make a difference by sharing the Ready, Set, Go! 5210 message wherever you go!

Tobacco Cessation Program

MultiCare offers a FREE 8-week web-based tobacco cessation workshop to help you quit tobacco for good. We will help identify your challenges in quitting tobacco and prepare a solid foundation for life long success. Each of the online workshops can be completed on your own schedule and provides skills and ideas to support your quit efforts.

Fresh Bucks

Their Fresh Bucks program provides cash incentives at the point of purchase in farmers markets and grocery stores to encourage SNAP participants to buy more fruits and vegetables.

Community Events and Outreach

MultiCare has built a strong tradition and commitment to promoting health awareness in our communities. Health screenings, education, and resources are offered at many community events.

Sound to Narrows Run

The Sound to Narrows is Washington State’s oldest 12K run, a community event taking place the second Saturday in June. The event offers a challenging and scenic 12K run through Pt. Defiance Park, a fast 5K through Tacoma’s north end neighborhood, a fun 2K Junior Shuffle, and the always delightful Diaper Dash. Walkers are welcome for both the 5K and 12K. After the race, enjoy the Healthy Living Expo, awards, lively music, and camaraderie with fellow participants. 

Nurse Camp

Are you a current high school sophomore or junior wondering what it would be like to be a nurse or allied health professional? MultiCare’s Annual Nurse Camp is your opportunity to explore these exciting careers — and thanks to gracious donations from a variety of community organizations and businesses, including MultiCare Health System, the MultiCare Nurse Camp is free

Community Health Needs Assessment

MultiCare’s Community Health Needs Assessments (CHNA) and Implementation Strategies identify the most pressing health needs in our hospital service areas and how we will work with the community to address those needs.
