We are pleased to present the 2019 MultiCare Community Health Needs Assessment (CHNA) Reports and Implementation Strategies for each of the eight hospitals wholly owned and operated by MultiCare. These publications identify the most pressing health needs in our hospital service areas, and how we will work with our communities to address those needs.
MultiCare collaborated with Public Health Seattle-King County, Spokane Regional Health District and the Tacoma-Pierce County Health Department to collect and review community health data. This process included assessing key health indicators from several data sources and information provided by community members and leaders.
Based on this data, available resources, existing programs, and other needs identified by MultiCare leaders, each hospital selected the top-priority needs for their service areas as the focus of the next three-year implementation period. Those needs are outlined in each hospital's CHNA Report:
*(Auburn and Covington share a joint King County CHNA report)
Using the needs identified in the above reports, MultiCare developed individual Implementation Strategies for each hospital service area. These strategies represent our commitment to providing the highest quality programs and services to promote health and healing in all the communities we serve across the state of Washington.
The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act of 2010 (ACA) requires tax-exempt hospitals to create a hospital community health needs assessment every three years. The first CHNA reports and their related implementation strategies were published in 2013. Below you will find MultiCare's 2013 and 2016 reports and implementation strategies.
