The Cause

Benefitting MultiCare Good Samaritan Hospital
Compassionate care for all — through all walks of life

Serving the entirety of East Pierce County, MultiCare Good Samaritan Hospital is anything but ordinary. Affectionately nicknamed “Good Sam”, the hospital is a source of pride for the community. Care at Good Sam reflects the community we serve: warmhearted, spiritual and family-centered.
Good Sam offers comprehensive inpatient and outpatient health care services from birth through end of life, including care provided at the Family Birth Center, Emergency Department, Intensive Care Unit, Cardiac Care Unit, Orthopedic and Surgical Care Unit, Cancer Center and Rehabilitation Center, as well as numerous other surgical and medical services. It has the highest number of hospital admissions in the MultiCare Health System and the Emergency Department is one of the busiest in Washington State and the surrounding region.

As a non-profit hospital, philanthropic support has been the cornerstone of Good Sam for more than 60 years. Community support has helped leaders at Good Sam build innovative facilities and programs — most notably, Children’s Therapy Unit (CTU).

For over 50 years, CTU has helped children with special needs discover new possibilities. Children’s Therapy Unit is home to a team of renowned pediatric specialists who provide world-class therapy to thousands of children each year. The cost of treatment and customized equipment that can make a breakthrough in a child's life often exceeds what insurance reimburses. Now here’s what makes CTU so special: thanks to generous donations from the community, CTU treats children based on what they need, not based on what insurance will cover. This community believes that nothing should come between a child and the treatment she needs to reach her fullest potential. Together, we build hope for kids and their families.

For the 2017 Corks & Crush, we will toast partners who work with us for healing and a healthy future at Good Samaritan Hospital and Children’s Therapy Unit. Proceeds from the entire event will benefit Good Samaritan’s programs and services, and all donations from the Fund-a-Need will benefit Children’s Therapy Unit. With the support of Corks & Crush partners and participants, Good Sam and CTU can continue to fund critical services for these vulnerable CTU children. Become part of the community of donors who make Good Sam so great. Get ready to raise your glass to provide compassionate care for all — through all walks of life.
