Here are today’s general updates:
Continued COVID-19-related phishing attempts. As we’ve shared earlier, both COVID-19-related phishing (fake emails) and SMS (text messages on your phone)continue to spread that distribute malware and steal information and login credentials.Please verify the authenticity of any COVID-related emails generated outside of MultiCare. If you receive something suspicious, please forward the email to [email protected].
CLINICAL & POLICY CHANGES
Ambulatory/outpatient clinic visitor policy changes. Updates include additional symptoms for screening, admittance guidelines and masking procedures.
●The policy includes protocols and restrictions for both adult and pediatric ambulatoryclinics
Reminder: Isolation guidance for PPE/Room closure by type of room, unit or ward. The guidance for COVID units and Emergency Departments includes specifics bytype of room, unit and ward.
●We released guidance on Monday that shares PPE and room closure guidelines based on type of room, unit or ward.

Isolation guidance for PPE/Room closure by type of room, unit or ward. We’ve updated the attestation form so that employees now use their employee number instead of their names and initials when they record their temperatures and attest to their health when reporting to work at any MultiCare building or facility. Please begin using this updated form immediately.
Non-emergency (elective) surgeries. We will continue to postpone non-emergency(elective) surgeries system-wide until April 26. A decision about further postponement will be made in the future.
Glidescope Handle Shortage. There is an immediate shortage of disposable glidescope handles used for intubation. All providers who perform intubations are encouraged to use reusable glidescope handles in place of disposable handles to conserve product while alternative sources are secured.
