COVID-19 billing questions from patients. Many insurance plans have agreed to waive patient balances related to COVID-19. Because each insurance company varies slightly in its implementation, we are encouraging patients to contact their insurance company if they have questions about how their bill was processed. We are also adding this language to patient bills,our website and providing our call centers with updated talking points.If you receive questions from patients about COVID-19 billing, please encourage them to connect directly with their insurance provider.
CLINICAL & POLICY CHANGES
Birthplace guidelines during COVID-19 pandemic. These guidelines provide guidance in caring for pregnant patients with COVID-19 (confirmed or under investigation) preparing togive birth in one of our Birth Centers. The guidance includes literature related to the screening of OB patients, treatment of active COVID disease in OB patients, and AAP guidelines.
Updated guidance for employees at higher risk for severe COVID-19 infection.This is both general and specific guidance for employees with a higher risk of severe COVID-19 illness. Included are guidelines for employees with potential exposure to suspected/confirmed COVID-19 patients.
IMPORTANT CORRECTION: Employees exposed to COVID-19 at work who are billed for testing. Earlier guidance stated that employees who were exposed to COVID-19 at work could disregard any bill they received from MultiCare for COVID testing. However, further action is required:●If you receive a bill, it is critical that you call Customer Services at 800-919-1936 to ensure we can work with you to resolve the bill.
