MultiCare Deaconess Hospital offers a Level III, 38-bed neonatal intensive care unit for babies born prematurely or with serious health problems. Our neonatologists and perinatologists (physicians who specialize in high-risk pregnancies) are available 24 hours a day to care for these fragile newborns. NICU care is given with a focus on optimal development for the baby, and on creating a supportive, low-stimulant atmosphere where premature babies thrive.
The NICU at MultiCare Deaconess Hospital is also home to the only Neonatal Abstinence Syndrome unit in the Inland Northwest.
Meet Lily and Dahlia Kramer - twins who weighed under two pounds each when they were born prematurely at 26 weeks. Thanks to the care that they received from MultiCare Deaconess’ NICU unit, the Kramer twins are living healthy lives and their mother shared their inspirational story.
