Practice Philosophy: As a rehab physician, my goal is to help patients achieve their aims after a neurological injury. Each patient’s goal is unique, which is why I enjoy what I do so much. I strive to be an advocate, partnering with patients and the rest of the therapy team, to restore function.

Erica Bechtel, MD, is board certified in physical medicine and rehabilitation and spinal cord injury medicine. She treats a vast array of non-traumatic and traumatic spinal cord injuries. In addition to spinal cord injuries, her clinical interests are brain injuries, adaptive sports medicine and musculoskeletal injuries in individuals with neurologic impairments. Away from work, she enjoys anything outdoors—hiking, backpacking, skiing, beginning mountaineering and gardening.
