Bill Robertson joined MultiCare in 2014. He came from Adventist HealthCare Inc. based in Gaithersburg, Maryland. Prior to Adventist, Robertson served as CEO of Shawnee Mission Medical Center near Kansas City, Kansas. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Southern Adventist University, and a Master of Business Administration from Texas Christian University. He was also a Certified Public Accountant.
Florence Chang oversees operations at seven adult hospitals and one children’s hospital in two markets on the west and east sides of Washington. She joined MultiCare in 2006. Chang came from Dearborn Advisors, LLC, where she served as Senior Vice President and partner. Chang received her Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology from California State University and holds a Master of Business Administration from Pepperdine University.
Lois I. Bernstein joined MultiCare in 1998. Prior to MultiCare, she worked in similar positions at Scripps Health and Scripps Mercy Hospital in San Diego and University of California, San Diego Medical Center. She holds a Master of Science in Rehabilitation from San Diego State University and a Master of Business Administration from the University of California, Irvine.
June Altaras, RN, joined MultiCare in 2018. Previously, Altaras was Chief Executive of Acute Care Services for Swedish System and Chief Executive Officer of Swedish Seattle from 2015 to 2018. Immediately prior, she served as Chief Nursing Officer for Swedish System and Chief Operating Officer for Swedish Seattle. From 2009 to 2012, she was Nurse Executive at the Swedish/First Hill campus.
David Carlson is a family practice physician focusing on geriatrics. He previously worked for Hospital Sisters Health System as the Chief Physician Executive. He also served as the Chief Medical Officer at Conemaugh Health System and the Medical Director and Vice President of Medical Affairs for Oschner Medical Center of Baton Rouge. Dr. Carlson earned his medical degree from Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine and holds an MBA from Alvernia College in Reading, Pennsylvania.
Kevin B. Dull joined MultiCare in 2015. Dull was previously at Kaiser Permanente Northwest, where most recently he served as Vice President, Human Resources. His other roles with Kaiser Permanente included Regional HR Executive/Organizational Performance Leader and Director of Employee and Labor Relations. For a period of 10 years, Kevin was also an adjunct professor of innovation, business strategy, business law and human resources. Dull holds a Master in Business Administration and Juris Doctor from Willamette University.
Mark Gary joined MultiCare in 2007 and has served as its chief legal officer and general counsel since 2013. Prior to MultiCare, Gary was a partner in the Seattle law firm Bennet, Bigelow & Leedom, where he practiced primarily health care business law. He received his law degree from the University of Washington School of Law.
Brian Livingston joined MultiCare in 2019. He formerly served as the Chief Operating Office/Chief Medical Officer of the Swedish Ballard campus. Dr. Livingston has held several leadership positions with Providence since 2009. He is a board-certified Emergency Medicine Physician who received his medical doctorate from New York Medical College. He earned his MBA from University of Washington.
Christi McCarren joined MultiCare in 1980. She has 36 years of health care experience, 29 of which have been in management and administrative roles. Her responsibilities include all service lines, post-acute care, retail and virtual health. McCarren received her Master in Business Administration from Washington State University. She is a registered nurse in Washington and a Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality.
James P. McManus joined MultiCare in 2019. McManus previously served as Chief Financial Officer at Marin General Hospital in Greenbrae, California; Vice President of Finance at St. Joseph Health System in Orange, California; and Chief Financial Officer at St. Mary Medical Center in Apple Valley, California. He also held leadership positions with Tenet Healthcare and Interhealth Corp. McManus holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from California State University, Long Beach, and was a Certified Public Accountant.
Dr. O'Brien received his medical doctorate from the University of California School of Medicine in Davis. He began his career as a physician, practicing family medicine in Eureka for 14 years, and he still identifies with the joys and challenges of being a doctor. "I'm a health care executive now but I'm a physician at heart," he says. "It really energizes me to pull together a group of people who work well together with the patient at the center."
Jim Beatty joined MultiCare from Overland Park Regional Medical Center, a 351-bed facility in Overland Park, Kansas, where he served as the chief operating officer. Previously he served in the COO role at Rapides Regional Medical Center in Alexandria, Louisiana, and Lawnwood Regional Medical Center & Heart Institute in Fort Pierce, Florida. He holds a Master of Business Administration from The University of Texas and is a retired United States Marine Corps Lieutenant Colonel.
Laureen Driscoll served as President of MultiCare Deaconess Hospital from 2017 until her return to the Puget Sound Region to head up Tacoma General and Allenmore hospitals in 2020. Prior to her role at Deaconess, she was Vice President of Operations for MultiCare, and also served as Chief Operating Officer of Swedish Medical Center's Cherry Hill Campus as well as Vice President of Operations for the Swedish Heart and Vascular Institute. She holds an Executive Master of Business Administration from the University of Washington and a Master of Science in Nursing Administration from Northeastern University.
Alex Jackson joined MultiCare Rockwood Clinic in 2018 as the Chief Operating Officer until transitioning to the President & COO role in 2020. Jackson brings more than 20 years of progressive health care leadership experience in a variety of roles and settings including Chief Operating Officer and Chief Executive in both Portland, Oregon, and Spokane. He holds a Master of Healthcare Administration from The University of North Carolina.
Jeff Poltawsky comes to MultiCare after serving as President of American Family Children’s Hospital and Senior Vice President of UW Health, Wisconsin for the past 10 years. Poltawsky’s experience also includes Administrator at Peyton Manning Children’s Hospital in Indianapolis and Director and Vice President at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta. He began his career at Geisinger Medical Center in Pennsylvania.
Gregory Repetti is a seasoned health care executive with more than 30 years of experience. He received his Master of Health Services Administration from the Ohio State University. Previously he was the Chief Operating Officer of Silver Cross Hospital in Illinois, CEO of Vail Valley Medical Center, Chief Operating Officer of Deaconess Hospital and Chief Operating Officer at Rockwood Clinic. He has also been a faculty member of the American College of Healthcare Executives.
Mark Smith previously worked as President of Fort Hamilton Hospital, part of Kettering Health Network; President of Sycamore Medical Center; Vice President of Finance and Operations at Green Memorial Hospital in Xenia, Ohio; and Chief Financial Officer at Nebraska Heart Hospital. He received his Bachelor of Accounting from Union College in Lincoln, Nebraska, and a Juris Doctorate from University of Nebraska.
Tim Holmes joined MultiCare in 2009 as Administrator of Outreach Services at Good Samaritan Hospital until 2011, when he was promoted to Vice President of Behavioral Health, then President in 2016. Prior to MultiCare, Holmes was Clinical Director for Pierce County Human Services. He has master’s degrees in Health Administration and Marriage and Family Therapy/Systems Theory.
Jason Parks joined MultiCare in 2015. Prior to that he served as Chief Executive Officer for the Cardiac Study Center. Parks spent several years with Boston Scientific’s Cardiac Rhythm Management Division after serving more than eight years in the U.S. Navy as a submariner. He holds a Master of Business Administration from the University of North Carolina.
