Bonus amount will match the sign-on bonus amount offered to the new employee, based on position type:

How to participate

  • Submit the contact information for the candidate(s) you are referring to MultiCare using the employee referral program form.
  • Tell the candidate(s) to apply at jobs.multicare.org and include your full name on their online application under the “where did you hear about this job” question.
  • If a candidate you refer is hired and employed with MultiCare for 90 days, you will receive a referral bonus.

Program rules

  • Program effective June 16, 2021 through August 15, 2021
  • Referred employees must be a .75 full-time employee or more.
  • The referral bonus will be paid the first pay period following the referred employee’s first 90 days with MultiCare.
  • There is no limit on the number of applicants an employee can refer.
  • MultiCare managers (VP and above) are not eligible to participate.
  • MultiCare employees in the HR department are not eligible to participate.
  • Former employees can be referred if they have not worked for MultiCare for at least one year.
  • Referrals of internal transfers are not eligible. Referrals for temporary positions are not eligible.
  • Application of the bonus program is within the sole discretion of MultiCare. Any disputes or interpretations of the program will be resolved through MultiCare Talent Acquisition.

How does the bonus work?

MultiCare offers sign-on bonuses for several positions, identified below.  The bonus amount for the referring employee will match the sign-on bonus amount offered to the new employee, based on position type.  Referred employees must be a minimum .75 FTE to qualify. See sign-on bonus amounts listed above.

 Is there a limit to the number of employees I can refer?

There is no limit on the number of applicants an employee can refer.

Who is eligible to participate?

Employees, including supervisors, managers, and directors are eligible. Administrator/Executive Director level and above, employees in the HR department, and internal transfers are not eligible to participate.  Former employees can be referred if they have not worked for MultiCare for at least one year.  Referrals for temporary positions are not eligible.

 How is HP tracking employee referrals?

HP will track employee referrals through the employee referral program form and candidate applications submitted through job.multicare.org.   Internally, we are tracking the participants in this program so that its success can be measured at the end of the 60-day period.

How do we validate referrals?

HP will match the referral names submitted by employees through the employee referral program form with employee names included in candidate applications submitted through job.multicare.org.

How will HP recoup the bonus money if someone leaves prior to the end of the commitment period?

HP will make arrangements to recoup the funds from the employee’s check and in a repayment plan.

When will the referral bonus be paid to the referring employee?

The referral bonus will be paid the first pay period following the referred employee’s successful completion of the introductory period with MultiCare.

How can a staff member refer a candidate?

Submit the contact information for the candidate(s) you are referring to MultiCare using the employee referral program form.

What does a referred candidate need to do?

Tell the candidate(s) to apply at jobs.multicare.org and include the referring employee’s full name on their online application under the “where did you hear about this job” question.

Are there any other referral programs?

Yes.  We have the following two programs in addition to this Bonus Match program:

Are Pier Diem employees eligible to receive a referral bonus?

Yes.

 Are we including international nurses in the program?

Currently, we do not have a program to sponsor RNs. MultiCare does accept TN visa. If the international RN has a TN visa or green card and meets the requirements of the job postings they are eligible for a Washington state licensure and would qualify.

 Are traveling nurses considered MultiCare employees?

No. Nurses working at MultiCare facilities through travel contracts are not MultiCare employees.

How will the payment be disbursed? 

The referral bonus will be paid through payroll as one lump sum the first full pay period following the referred employee’s successful completion of the introductory period with MultiCare.

What happens if the new hire does not keep their 2-year commitment? Will the current employee be responsible to give back their referral bonus?

The new hire sign-on bonus and the employee referral are two different programs. The new hire sign-on comes with a 2-year commitment.  The employee referral is contingent upon the new hire being employed after the 90 day introduction period. The employee must also be employed at that time to receive a payout for the referral.

 Can employees be enrolled in more than one referral bonus program?

No, employees eligible for a bonus will receive the single highest bonus they are eligible for based on the position they refer.
