Faith and Wellness Program

Partnering with Our Faith Communities to Promote Health and Wellness

The MultiCare Faith and Wellness program provides ongoing health and wellness support and services for congregations of all denominations within the MultiCare service area. We believe that by partnering with our faith communities to promote healthy lifestyle choices, we will be able to reach at-risk populations, address health disparities and improve health outcomes for all. Through faith-based community partnerships we can promote changes that will move care from hospitals focused on treating illness to communities focused on keeping people well.

Programs and Services

Health Teaching and Tools

We offer health education programs on various health-related topics, such as chronic disease and communicable disease prevention, women’s health, nutrition, physical activity, fall prevention and more.

Health Screenings

We can provide a variety of health screenings for your congregation, including blood pressure, type 2 diabetes risk assessments, body mass Index (BMI)/body composition, and vision screenings. Our highly skilled nurses, dietitians and health educators are here to provide you with the tools and education your congregation needs to make healthy lifestyle decisions.

Support for Health Fairs and Community Health Events

MultiCare has built a strong tradition and commitment to promoting health awareness in our communities. If your congregation is planning a health event, we can offer assistance and resources to support the coordination of your event. Marketing support is also available.

MultiCare Tobacco Cessation Program

The MultiCare Tobacco Cessation Program is a free, self-guided program designed to help you quit using tobacco. This program features weekly lessons to support your efforts toward a tobacco-free life. Additional support, tips, tools and expert advice are available to help you quit.

Health System and Community Resources

MultiCare strongly believes in providing quality health care to our diverse community. This care is respectful and addresses cultural, spiritual, communication and other unique needs of our community. Our nurse coordinator can act as a liaison to connect your faith community with both health system and local resources and collaborate with community partners to meet your diverse needs.

If you have additional needs, we are happy to consider them on a case-by case basis. The Faith and Wellness program coordinator can work in many capacities, depending on the size, makeup and the needs of your faith organization.

Volunteers

The MultiCare Faith and Wellness Program is always seeking volunteers who may be willing to serve as guest presenters on various health related topics, such as women’s health, men’s health, cardiovascular disease, nutrition, child health and so on. There is no official time commitment and you will be notified when opportunities become available. If you think you or someone you know may be interested, please contact [email protected]. Your commitment to improve the health and wellness of our community is appreciated.
