Get Help for Common Conditions without Invasive Procedures

MultiCare’s Hip Preservation Program treats a variety of conditions, such as:

  • Femoroacetabular impingement (FAI)
  • Femoral malrotation
  • Hip labral tears
  • Hip dysplasia
  • Hip tendon injuries

Linnea Welton, MD, our hip preservation specialist, uses a minimally invasive approach to avoid unseemly scars and help you get back on your feet as soon as possible. Common procedures performed include:

  • Hip arthroscopy without a groin traction post
  • Hip labral repair and reconstruction
  • Re-countouring of the femur and acetabulum (as it relates to hip impingement)
  • Derotational femoral osteotomy (DRO)
  • Periacetabular osteotomy (PAO)
  • Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) injections

A Safer Approach to Hip Arthroscopy

Dr. Welton is one of a few surgeons in the United States who performs hip arthroscopy without placing a padded post in the groin. Eliminating this post can lead to fewer complications. She is also able to operate on both hips simultaneously, so patients may avoid multiple surgeries.
