Philosophy of Care: I believe that as a physician it is my role to partner with my patient’s in their health care. Despite providing patients with diagnoses, I provide my patients with options for health management and together we determine which option is best for that patient. By educating and encouraging my patients on healthy lifestyle, my hope is to empower them in a lifetime of healthy living. I always consider spiritual and emotional aspects of my patient’s life as I believe they have a profound influence on health outcomes.
Why did you choose EPFM Residency? I chose EPFM for both for its location and its training. Western Washington is not only home to some of the best family medicine training in the country, but is also close to home for me. I chose EPFM because it is an unopposed, dually-accredited program at a community hospital that trains its residents in providing full-spectrum family medicine. Osteopathic philosophy and manipulation was also important to me and it is incorporated to our clinic and hospital training. This residency is led by innovative faculty, it is partnered with Tacoma Family Medicine and is supported by the WWAMI Program, all of which gave me confidence in training in a new residency.
Medical Interests: Preventive health care in all ages from newborns to geriatrics, obstetrics, family planning, sports medicine, mental health care, osteopathic manipulative treatment, procedures and palliative care.
Personal Interests/Hobbies: I enjoy spending my free time with loved ones first and foremost. Outside of medicine I enjoy exploring western Washington, salsa dancing, exercise, nutrition and watching sporting events. My faith is also important to me and I am involved in my church in Tukwila.
Fun Fact about You: I have travelled to four continents and over ten countries so far in life. I love learning about people and cultures and hope to continue a lifetime of exploring the world.
