Laser Skin Resurfacing

Refining the Look and Feel of Your Skin

Minimize fine lines and wrinkles and age spots with laser skin resurfacing.

Laser skin resurfacing can help your skin look younger and healthier. This outpatient cosmetic procedure is a great option for patients who want to smooth and tighten the appearance of their face.

The benefits of laser skin resurfacing include:

  • Reduction of fine lines and wrinkles
  • Reduction of age spots and other pigment problems
  • Reduction of mild to moderate acne scars

You can elect to have a skin resurfacing procedure on its own, or as a complement to another cosmetic procedure. The difference is noticeable within days.

Your Laser Skin Resurfacing Consultation

If you’re considering laser skin resurfacing, contact the MultiCare Medspa for a consultation with one of our board-certified specialists. Our doctors will meet with you to discuss your concerns about your skin, evaluate your needs and then recommend possible treatment options. They’ll ask about your medical history, previous procedures and any medications and vitamins or supplements you may be taking. Remember to bring a list of questions you have about the procedure, and that realistic expectations are the key to success.

What to Expect During and After Laser Skin Resurfacing

Laser skin resurfacing is an outpatient procedure, meaning you will likely go home the same day. Rarely patients stay overnight. The procedure may take from 30 minutes to two hours depending on the size of the area being treated.

Your doctor will bandage the treated areas after the procedure. Some swelling is normal, and your doctor will discuss how to treat your skin in the ensuing days and weeks. Your skin should heal within 10 days to three weeks, and redness should fade in two to three months. Your new skin will be especially sensitive to the sun; you can protect it by wearing a high SPF, broad spectrum sunscreen daily, as well as wide brimmed hats and other protective clothing.

*A $75 consultation fee will be charged and applied towards the total cost of surgery, if surgery is elected.
