Each of our four pediatric locations offers both pediatricians and registered nurse practitioners.
Pediatricians are medical doctors (MD) with special training and board certification to provide general care for babies, kids and teens. They provide well-child exams, immunizations and treat common childhood illnesses, as well as sudden and ongoing illness. Pediatricians will refer a patient to a pediatric specialist for anything more serious beyond general care. Pediatricians can be great listeners and are good at explaining medical concepts in a way that's easy to understand.
Nurse Practitioners (ARNP)
ARNPs have an advanced degree and board certification in a specialty, such as pediatrics or adolescent medicine. They can do initial physical exams, perform some tests and procedures, write prescriptions and treat minor illnesses and injuries.
