The OB Access Clinic (OBAC) at Tacoma Family Medicine has been committed to supporting women and their families throughout pregnancy and childbirth since 1989. Our focus is on providing care to women who have “high risk” pregnancies, because of a variety of factors, including health issues such as diabetes or high blood pressure.
The clinic is led by the board-certified obstetricians and gynecologists of MultiCare Obstetrics and Gynecology Associates. These OB/GYN experts supervise board-certified family medicine providers who are receiving additional obstetric training, as well as the residents in training at Tacoma Family Medicine.
We have an exceptional care team designed to support women who need additional care or attention during their pregnancy, no matter what the reason.
OBAC’s Answers program also provides Maternal Support Services for new mothers after their babies are born, including onsite nutrition and social work supports, counseling, and case management for both mother and baby when needed.
Our team also includes a dedicated nursing staff, nurse practitioners and a certified nurse midwife. We work closely with MultiCare’s Maternal Fetal Medicine Group when we need to, to make sure our patients have access to all of MultiCare’s high-risk pregnancy experts. Our goal is to provide our patients with the safest, healthiest pregnancy possible, for both mom and baby.
OBAC also offers free pregnancy tests to the public Monday through Thursday, 9am-noon and 1:30-3:30pm; Friday 9am-noon. Other services we offer include birth control services and gynecology care for our patients.
We are conveniently located next to Tacoma General Hospital and its newly remodeled birth center.
Free pregnancy tests are available to the public Monday through Thursday, 9am-noon and 1:30-3:30pm; Friday 9am-noon.
