For 18th year, MultiCare Tacoma General voted top choice for health care
Consumers in Pierce County have once again chosen MultiCare Tacoma General as a top destination for receiving health care, according to the largest and most comprehensive consumer study of U.S. health care.
For the 18th time, Tacoma General Hospital ranks No. 1 as the region’s preferred choice for health care. The hospital received the 2015-2016 Consumer Choice Award, as chosen by local residents surveyed by National Research Corporation.
When asked to name their most-preferred hospital, people chose Tacoma General based on criteria such as best overall quality, best image and reputation, best doctors and best nurses.
“We are honored to receive this award, which recognizes the dedication of our doctors, nurses and staff at MultiCare Tacoma General Hospital to providing skilled, high-quality care to our patients every day,” said Shelly Mullin, RN, president of the West Pierce Region. “The achievement is especially rewarding because our hard work was recognized by the people who matter most: The people we serve. I am extremely proud of our team.”
St. Joseph Medical Center is a co-recipient of this award in Pierce County. For the study, National Research surveyed more than 290,000 households from September 2014 to August 2015.
The award is a vote of confidence in MultiCare’s commitment to being the region’s trusted provider of health care. MultiCare Tacoma General provides Level 2 Adult Trauma Services, an expanded Emergency Department, Heart Hospital, Birth Center and Level IV NICU.
MultiCare Tacoma General Hospital first received the Consumer Choice Award in 1996.
