New emergency department opening at Auburn Medical Center
This week, MultiCare Auburn Medical Center unveils its new and enhanced Emergency Department.
The renovated facility opens Dec. 13 and includes many new features designed to create a more comfortable, efficient and healing environment for patients and their families, and to allow Auburn Medical Center to deliver exceptional care and service to the community for many years into the future.
A separate emergency entrance featuring a HUC charge desk supporting efficient work flow between nurses and physicians.
An expanded ambulance bay that allows multiple ambulances to deliver patients at the same time.
Private treatment rooms with expanded layout for improved nursing function, more space for families, and access to both sides of the patient's bed.
Upgraded inpatient pharmacy with a private, quiet space for pharmacists to work and calculate.
A physicians' work station that supports collaboration between Emergency Department and admitting physicians, and allows for privacy during records review.
Enhanced nurses' stations conveniently located near patient rooms for close monitoring and access.
Dedicated trauma and critical care treatment rooms with a larger layout to allow the care team to better support patient needs with leading edge equipment and technology.
A dedicated room that provides a safe environment to care for potentially infectious patients.
Design and layout improvements to help create a healing environment and support efficient workflows for nurses, physicians, and staff.
Renovations to the Emergency Department are part of a larger improvement project to Auburn Medical Center that will allow it to be a long-term, viable resource for the South King County community.
These changes in Auburn are a major part of the $180 million investment that MultiCare is making in South King County. MultiCare is working to integrate its clinics and hospitals in this region into a coordinated network for the growing community.
