New MultiCare Maple Valley Clinic opens

Posted on Sep. 7, 2012 ( comments)

The new MultiCare Maple Valley Clinic opened to patients Sept. 10, but residents got an early sneak peek of the modern health care center during a ribbon-cutting celebration that included community officials, MultiCare leaders, clinic employees, and members of the Maple Valley-Black Diamond Chamber of Commerce.

“Our time has come,” said Karen Graham, Director of Clinic Operations for MultiCare Medical Associates. After a group photo in front of the clinic, Graham cut a yellow ribbon with an oversized pair of Fiskars scissors provided by the Chamber, which is celebrating a number of business openings this summer.

The clinic’s new address is 24080 S.E. Kent-Kangley Road, near the new Fred Meyer in Maple Valley Town Square, across the street from the clinic’s previous site. For details or an appointment, call 253-372-7680 or 425-413-1310.

The MultiCare Maple Valley Clinic will be open from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday, and from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday.

The 10,500-square-foot MultiCare Maple Valley Clinic will include Mary Bridge Pediatrics for children, onsite x-ray and lab services. The clinic is part of of the not-for-profit MultiCare Health System, based in Tacoma.

The MultiCare Maple Valley Clinic is pleased to offer a full range of family practice services. Whether you need a same-day appointment for an acute condition, regular care to help you manage a chronic illness, or preventive care such as annual physicals and well-child checks, the MultiCare Maple Valley Clinic is here to care for you and your family.

MultiCare Health System includes MultiCare Covington Medical Center and its Emergency Department that opened this year; four hospitals: Tacoma General Hospital, Mary Bridge Children's Hospital and Allenmore Hospital in Tacoma, and Good Samaritan Hospital in Puyallup; as well as a network of primary care, urgent care and specialty clinics in South King, Pierce, Kitsap and Thurston counties. On Oct. 1, MultiCare Auburn Medical Center is scheduled to become MultiCare’s fifth hospital. Additionally, planning is under way to build a MultiCare hospital in Covington.

All MultiCare outpatient clinics and hospitals are linked by an electronic health record, called MultiCare Connect, that securely stores a patient's entire health history, such as medications, allergies, test results and clinic or hospital visits. A MultiCare patient’s health history is updated at each visit, so that information can be immediately accessed by providers within the system, whether that’s a primary care provider in Maple Valley, an Emergency Department physician in Covington, or specialists elsewhere within MultiCare. Only a few health care systems in the country have such advanced systems.

MultiCare patients can view their health record, lab and test results, schedule an appointment or refill prescriptions using a secure patient portal called MyChart (Powered by MultiCare) at home or anywhere they have internet access.

Earlier this year, MultiCare announced the release of a free MyChart app – which lets you access medical records, ask your doctor questions, review test results and more – for iPhone and Android mobile devices. MyChart gives MultiCare patients secure online access to personal health information, plus easy-to-use tools that make managing health care simple and convenient. To download the app, visit the marketplace for your mobile device or visit www.multicare.org/mychart.
