Philosophy of Care: I think that one of the best things we can do for our patients is include them as decision makers and stakeholders in their own health care. Developing effective multidisciplinary care teams that emphasize patient education and healthcare literacy are important aspects of this cooperative approach to patient care.
Why did you choose EPFM Residency? When I started my search for residency programs I was looking for an opportunity to train at an unopposed, full-scope family medicine program that was flexible enough to respond to the needs of residents and which prioritized their education and growth.
I found all of these qualities at EPFM but what actually made up my mind was seeing how the residents and faculty interacted with each other and with the nursing, administrative and front office staff. There was a genuine sense of camaraderie and mutual respect for each other, as well as an enthusiasm for patient care that I did not find at other programs and I can't think of a better place to train and work at!
