Pulmonary Rehabilitation

Better Breathing for a Better Life

For adults with chronic lung disease, the simple act of breathing can be the hardest thing. If you or someone you know struggles to breathe because of conditions such as asthma, emphysema, chronic bronchitis, pulmonary fibrosis or another lung disease, the MultiCare Pulmonary Rehabilitation Program can help.

Our Program

AACVPR CertificationCertified by the American Association of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation, our Pulmonary Rehabilitation Program is overseen by a pulmonologist — a doctor who specializes in treating breathing disorders and other lung conditions — and is staffed by a multidisciplinary team of Registered Nurses, Respiratory Therapists, and Exercise Specialists. Our entire team is highly skilled and eager to help you achieve your customized goals using individual assessments, exercise and group instruction.

Benefits of Pulmonary Rehabilitation

Studies document the benefits of pulmonary rehabilitation include:

  • Decreased number of hospitalizations
  • Decreased length of stay during needed hospitalizations
  • Reduced dependency on others
  • Decreased shortness of breath
  • Increased individual exercise tolerance

A Referral-Based Program

To begin the program, participants need to be referred by their provider. The program is usually a covered benefit by Medicare, private insurance plans and HMOs. We encourage you to call our staff before beginning the program to assure your eligibility.
