About Us

The Science of Quality Patient Care

Oncology Pharmacist Holding Medicine Tray

MultiCare has been involved with clinical research studies for more than 37 years. Our investigators initially focused on cancer care, but over time, the research program expanded into a diverse group of diseases and medical conditions. The MultiCare Institute for Research & Innovation, formed in 2010, houses all our research efforts in a single program.

MIRI works with MultiCare-employed physicians, as well as community physicians, on studies led by federal agencies, industry groups, independent researchers and organizations, such as the Seattle Cancer Care Alliance. Our goal is to find new, better treatments and treatment methods and ways that we can improve the care we provide.

Our mission is to partner with our communities to improve quality of life and advance medical science through research.

MIRI will be the leading research site in the Pacific Northwest. We work with renowned community researchers in the South Puget Sound and Inland Northwest to offer the most recent advancements in medical science available. Through groundbreaking research, these professionals provide patients access to cutting-edge treatments that would not otherwise be available. We want community members to seek out MultiCare’s facilities and providers because of our research expertise and access to studies.
