About the Spokane Community

MultiCare Rockwood Clinic is located in Spokane, Washington, a city situated along the banks of the Spokane River, where the Columbia River Valley rises to meet the forests of the northern Rockies.

With more than 200,000 people (over 400,000 in the metro area), Spokane is the second largest city in Washington state and serves as a health care and service hub for the 1.5 million people in its service area of eastern Washington, northern Idaho and western Montana.

Health Care Services

Spokane is home to two major hospital systems and two independent facilities. Six hospitals total are located in the immediate area and host training programs for resident physicians and numerous other health care professions, including our MultiCare Health System partners, MultiCare Deaconess Hospital and MultiCare Valley Hospital.

Outdoor Recreation Abounds

The area's mountains and lakes offer every type of outdoor activity. Five ski resorts are within a half an hour of downtown, as are myriad lakes for fishing and boating. Quality of life and recreation are an important reason people live and work in the Inland Northwest.
