How many interviews do you offer?
Tacoma Family Medicine will interview approximately 150 applicants for its eight available first-year positions.
When does Tacoma Family Medicine offer interviews?
COVID-19 will change interviewing in 2020-2021 from in-person interviews to virtual interviews.
Tentatively, the interviews take place on Tuesdays, November through the end of January. We may decide to offer additional dates.
As the season progresses and available interview appointments become filled, it is not always possible to accommodate requests for a specific interview date. It is therefore to your advantage to complete your ERAS application in a timely manner and submit it as early as possible. Our faculty will strive to review qualified applications at the earliest possible opportunity, and our residency coordinator will contact you as soon as a decision regarding a personal interview has been made.
Are there any activities planned the evening prior to the interview day?
An informal group ZOOM meeting will be hosted on each Tuesday evening at 6:15 PM PST on the day of the interview. Tune in and meet our residents in this relaxed environment to get to know one another and share information about the program from our current resident’s perspective.
What should I expect on interview day?
The interview day will begin with a one-hour question and answer session. This will be followed by One-on-one interviews with residents and faculty. We are posting virtual tours of our clinic and hospital on the website.
Who should I contact if I still have questions?
Please direct questions concerning the interview process to our Residency Coordinator, Desi Axt, at 253-403-2938. It is not uncommon to reach voicemail during this busy time of year. Please leave a detailed message, along with your telephone number, and we will return your call as soon as possible. You can also email [email protected] with any questions you might have.
