As your qualifications, career goals and personal needs change, you have the flexibility to move throughout MultiCare. In most cases, you’ll be eligible to apply for a transfer after six months in your current position. (RN residents are eligible one year after completing their residency.)
MultiCare’s online transfer application is customized for employees. It is accessed via the employee job posting site which includes jobs that are not available to external candidates. If you do not find jobs that match your interests, you will have the option to set up a “job search agent” that will notify when a matching job is posted.
As you apply, be sure to provide complete information about your skills, experience and education. Once you complete the transfer application, you can update it as your qualifications change. You can also log onto your account to view the status of your applications.
Replacement of Existing Position
A transfer into an entirely new position is the most common. The process and rules for this type of transfer are explained in the Intra-System Employee Transfers policy found on MHSNet.
With this option, you keep your primary position and add another part-time or on-call position. This is most common in clinical areas such as Nursing or Rehab Therapy.
This option involves terminating employment with MultiCare Pre and being hired by Good Samaritan (or vice versa). The Inter-Company Employee Transfers policy explains the process and rules for this type of transfer.
