MultiCare Urology's team combines leading expertise and experience with a compassionate, sensitive approach to care.
Urologists receive special training to treat diseases and conditions that affect the kidney, bladder, prostate and reproductive organs. Urologists can perform surgery as well as offer alternate therapies to treat illnesses such as prostate cancer, male infertility, kidney stones and more.
Our urologists are some of the most highly trained and experienced urology specialists in the South Sound, including Douglas Sutherland, MD. Dr. Sutherland is the Urological Medical Director at MultiCare Health System. He has performed over 500 robotic-assisted urologic procedures - more than any urologist between Seattle and Portland, including curative treatments such as prostatectomy for prostate cancer, nephron-sparing partial nephrectomy for kidney cancer and cystectomy for bladder cancer. Additionally, Dr. Sutherland is the only fellowship trained urologist in Tacoma who specializes in SUO-Accredited genitourinary (GU) oncology treatments.
Our talented and compassionate Nurse Practitioners (ARNPs) and Physician Assistants (PAs) are an integral part of our care team. They work closely with urologists and other providers in the diagnosis, treatment and management of your condition.
