Updated Class Policy

Out of an abundance of caution and care for our community and patients during the ongoing coronavirus (COVID-19) situation, our Childbirth, Parenting and Family in-person classes will be suspended until further notice. We will continue to offer our online and private classes, and have temporarily moved some classes to an online video conference format.

Childbirth & Family Education Classes in the Puget Sound

Online Class Package Discount Available

Register for any childbirth class plus any two additional classes and receive a $25 discount. To redeem this offer, please regsiter by phone at 800-342-9919 or email our program director instead of registering online. 

2-Day Childbirth Class

This class covers all the information a 5-week series does, but moves more quickly over two weekend days. Labor coping and support techniques will be practiced both days.  Each class day is 6.5 hours with a lunch break.

This class will be offered as an online videoconference class during the ongoing coronavirus (COVID-19) situation. Instructions will be sent prior to class.

$130 or Provider One Card

Online Childbirth Class

This online class offers prepared childbirth instruction in an easy-to-navigate, self-paced and convenient format. Topics covered are pregnancy, labor, birth stories, comfort techniques, medical procedures, cesarean birth, newborn care and postpartum. This class offers information in text, animation, videos and 11 printable handouts. Total average viewing time is 4 to 6 hours.

$130 - Provider One Cards are accepted

Newborn Care Class

This 1-night class offers an in-depth preparation on what to expect from your newborn and how to best care for him or her when you get home from the hospital. Sleeping, feeding, diapering, bathing and safety issues will all be covered with extra time for your questions or concerns to be addressed. 3 hours.

This class will be offered as an online videoconference class during the ongoing coronavirus (COVID-19) situation. Instructions will be sent prior to class.

$45

Register for Newborn Care Class

* With all class registrations, a birth partner can attend at no additional charge and the partner's information is entered when mom registers.

Online Newborn Care Class

The Newborn Care class covers what to expect in the early weeks and months of parenting. In this self-paced, easy-to navigate format, you will learn how to interpret your baby’s behavior and cues, comforting techniques, best feeding practices, diapering, and health and safety information. View at your own pace, usually 2-3 hours. $55

After registering, you will receive an email with information about how to access the class, generally within the next business day.

Breastfeeding Class

This 1-night class offers information on the benefits and the "how to" of breastfeeding. Suggestions for overcoming common difficulties and strategies for working and breastfeeding will be covered.

This class will be offered as an online videoconference class during the ongoing coronavirus (COVID-19) situation. Instructions will be sent prior to class.

Private Childbirth Class

If you prefer a private childbirth class, this 3-hour private class covers the prenatal education topics you select. Time and subjects are arranged with the instructor.

Expectant families can request to be taught by a certified childbirth instructor who is also a doula if they would like to hear information from a doula’s perspective.

Conscious Fathering Class

The Conscious Fathering course empowers new fathers with practical, hands-on skills that they can immediately use to help bond and care for their new baby.
