You have lots of options when it comes to choosing a women's health care provider — and the right choice for you may change over time. Learn more about the women's health care experts we have available at MultiCare.
Obstetrician-gynecologists, or OB/GYNs, are specialists in every aspect of women's health, focusing primarily on gynecological issues, breast health, pregnancy, or prenatal, care and childbirth.
MultiCare Certified Nurse-Midwives completed their Master’s or doctoral degree in Midwifery and are Advanced Practice Registered Nurses with education and training in women’s health and maternity care. Our nurse-midwives offer women a more tailored, holistic approach to labor and delivery, within the safety of a hospital setting. They also provide annual gynecological exams, menopause management, general women’s health care, family planning and pre-conception counseling.
Family physicians trained in obstetrics, or FMOBs, care for you before, during and after you give birth. Family Medicine physicians provide an array of services, including women's care, pregnancy, or prenatal, care, childbirth, newborn care, well child care and preventive care for you and your entire family.
Maternal-Fetal Medicine specialists, also known as perinatologists, are obstetrician-gynecologists who have completed advanced training in the care of very high-risk pregnancies and births. If you are at risk for health complications for you or your baby before your baby is born, they will care for you in partnership with your OB/GYN provider or family practice obstetrician. Maternal-Fetal Medicine doctors provide care by physician referral only.
Urogynecologists (UroGyns) are obstetrician-gynecologists who have completed advanced training in female pelvic medicine and reconstructive surgery. They specialize in treating conditions affecting the pelvic floor, ranging from bladder or bowel control issues, urinary leakage and pelvic organ prolapse (dropped bladder, vagina, uterus).
Our trusted pediatric providers specialize in the diagnosis, treatment and wellness of infants, children and adolescents. Our team is trained to understand your child's unique medical, developmental and emotional needs.
Whatever your obstetric or gynecological needs may be, MultiCare offers you choices in selecting a trusted women's health provider for any stage of your life. Our OB/GYN providers offer the personalized, advanced care and services you need for the life you want to live.
